Speyside Stages Meeting

The Speyside Stages will soon be upon us again, and the next organisers meeting will be on the 17th of June, 8pm in the Cottar Hoose. Feel free to come along if you can help out.

The Speyside Stages is a major undertaking for the club, and as many hands as possible are needed in the lead up, during and after the event, so if you haven’t already volunteered please do so. Over 250 volunteers signed on at the event last year, and when you consider the club has less the one hundred members  that means a lot of work by a lot of people. So if you can help out in any way, however small, get in touch with any member of the committee.

Club Autotest

Next up on the calender is Club Autotest on the 20th of June. Alan Gordon will be organising the event, starting at 11am at the usual Dallachy. The event will count for two rounds of the club championship, to make up for rounds missed earlier in the year. Hopefully there will be five tests in the morning followed by a break for lunch, followed by five more tests. Entries and marshals please get in touch with Alan.

Scottish Rally / Rally of Argyll

As usual, the club will be sending marshals to the above events.

The Scottish Rally on the 26th of June is based in Dumfries, and seems to using the forest of Ae for the bulk of its mileage. The Rally HQ has moved to Barony College, just outside Dumfries which should keep the event compact.

The Rally of Argyll on the 10th of July is a new venture organised by Mull Car Club. After years of struggling to get entries for a gravel rally on the island they have moved the whole lot to Argyll, with the rally based around Oban. Much of the stages are in Minard, which may ring a few bells with some of our older members. The event will be observed by the Scottish Rally Championship for possible inclusion in next years championship.

If you can help with either of the above events then contact Colin Christie. With both rallies being in at a time when a lot of people take holidays there could be a shortage of bodies, especially for Argyll, so any volunteers will be greatly appreciated.
